Documentary photography Worcester
I am based in Kempsey near Worcester. I have photographed over three hundred weddings as a professional wedding photographer over the past ten years. I enjoy documentary wedding photography, watching and waiting to capture the right moment. Bridal preparation, the wedding ceremony, family group photographs, and unique images of the couple together telling the story of the wedding day without interfering. I supply every couple with a USB drive containing all the digital images from the day.
I work alone using small unobtrusive high quality digital cameras, blending in with your friends and family capturing unique moments that will be cherished by your family for ever. I document the wedding without having to interact with your guests for the majority of the wedding, letting them enjoy the day without having to worry about being photographed. If you would like a selection of family group photographs I will arrange them in a professional, quiet manner at the church or wedding reception when you are ready.
The standard coverage starts with bridal preparation and ends when you sit down for the wedding breakfast. If you need an extended coverage through the evening this can be arranged. If you require a wedding album or prints you can contact me after the wedding to arrange a second meeting to discuss your requirements. The high resolution photographs are provided on a USB drive and are yours to use as you wish, to make your own albums or share with friends and family.
Q. Can I book you for more than five hours?
A. When we have the first meeting we can discuss all the timings for your wedding day and work out the best coverage for you. I find that most of the couples that book me need at least five hours coverage. If you need a longer coverage through the evening I will always recommend a second photographer to attend the wedding to make sure you get the best photographs possible.
Q. How large are the photographs supplied ?
A. The high resolution files I supply on the USB drive are 13M pixel JPG files. These files will allow you to make high quality prints upto 20 inches x 16 inches. It is always better to have a large file that you can reduce in size for email or web use. The files are not watermarked with copyright information and so you are free to use them as you wish.
Q. Do you offer engagement photography ?
A. An engagement photography sessions or “pre wedding shoot” will really help you relax when I photograph you. I always advise couples to come and have a practice session a few months before the wedding. If you are nervous about standing in front of a camera this is the ideal time to over come your fears. I find that most couples are so confident by the end of the session they want to keep going.
Q. Worcester wedding photographer. What about Hereford ?
A. I work in Worcestershire and Herefordshire and travel throughout the U.K to photograph weddings. There will be an additional charge for travel and accommodation if required. Just send me an email with all your details and I will give you a quote within a few hours.
Q. What about group photographs of our family ? Is that documentary photography ?
A. The coverage includes all the group photographs you require. I concentrate on reportage documentary photography and then switch to formal and informal group photographs when you are ready. I enjoy this part of the reception and have allot of experience working with family’s. If you can ask a friend to help me get everyone together that will always make a big difference. Many photographers think documentary photography is just `candid`. I think that the group photographs and individual portraits of couples are important to document.
Q. I hate having my photograph taken ? Do you have allot of experience ?
A. I hate being photographed to, this is one of the many reasons I set up my wedding photography business capturing natural images, and the term `relaxed informal wedding photography` was born. I realised that wedding photographers were making couples feel very uncomfortable at weddings. Ten years ago every wedding photo looked staged and most of the couples looked like they wanted the photography to end. I like showing couples that they can produce amazing natural photographs and show different techniques that guarantee great images. I encourage you to book a pre-wedding photography session to come and practice before the wedding.
